Marietta is a city in and the county seat of Cobb County, Georgia. At the 2010 census, the city had a population of 56,579. The 2019 estimate was 60,867, making it one of Atlanta's largest suburbs. Marietta is the fourth largest of the principal cities by population of the Atlanta metropolitan area.
Marietta is one of metro-Atlanta’s unique and cultural cities, with two live theatres featuring three stages, eclectic art galleries, museums, upscale boutiques and an abundance of casual and fine dining restaurants. The hip and lively Marietta Square plays host to free concerts, annual festivals, a seasonal farmers’ market and other events throughout the year and serves as an inspiration to artists and a local gathering place. Marietta was named one of the 10 best communities in the country by the National Civic League in 2006. "Money" magazine in 2011 named Marietta one of the 25 best places to retire in America.
